With autumn now in full swing (or spring in the Southern Hemisphere), we are proud to announce major updates to all of our major products. To show off and since Halloween is only thirty days away, we decided to have Susumu Takajima cosplay the Angry Video Game Nerd and Kagami Ochiai cosplay Touhou Project‘s Marisa Kirisame. The Story of Eastern Wonderland NES Demake Beta
Tomorrow, the beta for the Touhou 2: The Story of Eastern Wonderland will launch on itch.io. This means you can get a glimpse of the game and we also need to make sure no bugs slip under our radar. This was especially a problem with Chuhou Joutai, as we accidentally left in a few bugs that one player from Singapore helped us find.
When we began development on Chuhou Joutai over two years ago, our goal was to make a danmaku game that players of any age can enjoy without as much frustration. We did just that. To those players who have been following its development and anticipating its completion and release, we truly thank you. Your interest, encouragement, and enthusiasm has kept us over the hundreds of hours we spent working on this title. In March 2020, two months before the game launched on Steam, we were proud to announce its completion.
Our goal with Chuhou Joutai was to make it accessible to new players of the danmaku genre. We also added multiple features for hardcore gamers like you, for example, the customizable health and bomb counts. Just like any video game, we understand that not everyone may like all the features, and don’t forget that we aren’t perfect. Sometimes a few bugs may go unnoticed or find exploits that we didn’t anticipate. The demake may still have some evolving to do and we will tweak it for the new decade. Once the game launches on itch.io, you won’t be able to leave any reviews on it until it’s fully released, so please post any messages and/or feedback in the game’s discussion board.
Chuhou Joutai Demo to release on Steam
Following decline in sales, we decided to update the demo for release on Steam. The same thing will be applied to itch.io. The demo is still out of date, but we will tweak it to ensure it matches the current version on Steam. Release date is unknown at this moment.
Touhou 1: The Highly Responsive to Prayers NES Demake Minor Update
Lastly, the other product we host on itch.io will be getting a minor update to correct a bug. Release date is unknown at this moment.
Changes are coming to Drillipedia
As part of the Gamepedia move to FANDOM’s Unified Community Platform, Drillipedia will not be editable starting October 5 and may last a few weeks. During the process, a backup of all the wiki’s content will be made and will be checked for errors. Once the process is complete, you will be able to edit on the site again.
