Drillimation to Strengthen Anti-Piracy Measures in Chuhou Joutai 3 Following Anti-Piracy Crackdown for the Second Game

Two days ago, Drillimation launched a massive crackdown of illegally distributed copies of Chuhou Joutai 2: Paraided! on multiple websites. The DRM was cracked within four days after the game released in July 2021.

Drillimation initiated a series of DMCA takedown notices against multiple websites who illegally distributed the game. Skidrow was the first to be hit, but the game was also illegally distributed on websites such as Mega (the current incarnation of MegaUpload) and Google Drive. Mega did the right thing of adopting a copyright policy in order to stop their service from becoming a dumping ground for pirated media like what happened with MegaUpload which then got seized.

Chuhou Joutai 3’s Steam release will be having a form of DRM where the player must always be logged in and subscribed to the Steam server. According to the API, the function will always return true if Steam DRM is being used. However, things may change if the player is using a pirated version of the game.
