After a grueling ten days of intense development, the anticipated “Bewildering Parallel” episode is officially nearing the finish line.
Drillimation Systems finally breaks its silence to confirm that a major milestone has been reached for Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel. After ten days of non-stop, heads-down development, the studio is announcing that the Bewildering Parallel episode is largely complete.
While the studio has kept fine details close to its chest, this milestone marks a massive step forward for the ambitious danmaku project, which serves as a highly anticipated mechanical shift for the Drillimation Danmaku Universe.
The Bewildering Parallel Episode, Explained
For the uninitiated, Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel centers on a dark outbreak in Gensokyo caused by a corruptive substance known as glohm, which shuts the hearts of citizens and twists allies into enemies. Players control Chief Justice Reimu Hakurei alongside other prominent faction leaders to sweep away the impending doom before the Autumn Equinox Festival.
The game’s plot is split into two halves: the daytime part includes the Cursed Sweeper and Extra Stage episodes and the Bewildering Parallel takes place at night. The game will conclude with a Phantasm Stage, a first for a Drillimation Danmaku Universe game.
Drillimation is firing on all cylinders to ensure Cursed Sweeper is the definitive rebound fans have been waiting for. Locking down a core episode in just ten days shows serious momentum as they head toward its targeted release window later this year.
Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel is currently in active development for Windows and macOS. More updates on Gensokyo’s latest danmaku crisis as it develops will be put out in the future.
