Vengeance is rising, and the clock is ticking fast.
Peace had returned to the Land of Illusions after the defeat of Vladrouge Scarlet, or so it seems. Beneath the autumn leaves of the Amber Woods, the Gensokyo Socialite Order is brewing a new curse that will turn your friends into enemies. A toxic substance known as glohm is infecting humanoids and youkai-borns alike, shutting their hearts and forcing them into isolation.
As the Federal Kingdom of Gensokyo is preparing to celebrate its first Autumn Equinox Festival, someone is committed to sweeping away the doom before the glohm takes hold of Kozankyo. Take control of Chief Justice Reimu Hakurei, or any of the queens of the three kingdoms from Marisa, Yukari, and Kaguya*. You’ll have to navigate the shifting boundaries of Mayohiga to the serpentine flames of Yumemura in order to find the origin of the glohm. When the sun sets, everyone must lock, load, and graze their way into beating the glohm.
- A Bold New Direction: Everything is optimized with a brand new engine for the smoothest danmaku action yet.
- Four Playable Characters: Take flight as Chief Justice Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame of the Federal Kingdom of Gensokyo, Yukari Yakumo of the Democratic Kingdom of Gensokyo, or Kaguya Houraisan of the People’s Kingdom of Gensokyo.
- Master the Mystic Arts: Unleash iconic spell cards like Fantasy Seal or Master Spark to clear the screen of enemy fire.
- All new bosses:* Battle through 8 intense stages and face off against 10+ unique bosses, including new characters and familiar faces, including the clumsy mail-tengu Kotori Tegami, the dual snake-sirens Saika and Ryuuko, and the enigmatic Berenice Grieg.
- New scrolling stages: Navigate a dark new plot where a corruptive substance is shutting the hearts of Gensokyo’s citizens. Can you break the curse before the festival begins? Watch as the stage scrolls more than just vertically – the action will turn horizontal in a few!
- An Auditory Feast: Immerse yourself in a CD-quality soundtrack that brings the Federal Kingdom of Gensokyo to life!
*As of this build, only the first six stages are complete, with eight bosses, Kotori, Ritsuu, Koko, and Helene, Ryuuko, Saika, Fusana, and Berenice being fightable.

- Replay file sizes have been truncated from just megabytes to less than 100 kilobytes.

- Reimu’s homing amulets should now point at enemies instead of off-screen entities.
Beta Version 1.0.0
Added
- Phantasm Stage added, complete with a new boss fight.
- Multiplayer mode added.
- Replay system added.
Known Issues
- Developing the replay system was anything but straightforward. During the initial steps of the process, replays kept desyncing, so we had to rewrite multiple parts of the game to prevent it. Even after spending a few days trying to tackle this problem, we had to ensure that movement physics and graphics continued to work as intended. As such, there is a risk that stage enemies, items, and/or boss behavior may not work as previously intended. Please report all known problems to the game’s GitHub page.
- The game may freeze momentarily when loading replays. This is because replays tend to get very large compared to the .rpy files produced by Team Shanghai Alice in the official games and have to load the entire directory into memory. A replay of a single stage played in Free Play Mode may only be 500KB, whereas a full playthrough may be over 3MB.
Alpha Version 1.3.0
Added
- Bewildering Parallel episode added, complete with six new stages and bosses (all stages are the same as the Cursed Sweeper episode, but with entirely new boss fights). Adjusted
- Enemy behavior in stages 3 and 5 has been adjusted to make the game slightly easier after playtesters complained about the high difficulty.
