We are incredibly proud to announce that the wait is finally over. Alpha Version 1.1.0 of our newest game Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel is officially live. This is one of our most substantial updates yet, introducing long-awaited playable characters, expanding the world with new stages, and implementing core gameplay systems like time orbs. For this milestone update, we really wanted to focus on expanding gameplay options while tackling some of the rough edges of the previous version. We have updated our user agreements
To ensure transparency and protect our growing community, we have rolled out important updates to our core user agreements, including our Game Content and Brand Usage Rules, End User License Agreement, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy. These changes outline how our products and services are managed, clarify modding guidelines, and reinforce our commitment to your data privacy.
- The new Game Content and Brand Usage Rules outline how fans and creators can use Drillimation names, logos, and game assets. It explicitly permits non-commercial fanart, gameplay livestreams, and free fangames with a proper copyright disclosure, while strictly prohibiting commercial exploitation, standalone asset redistribution, and the use of Drillimation intellectual property to train generative AI or machine learning models.
- The new End User License Agreement (EULA) establishes explicit rules for account safety, online interactions, and platform boundaries. Crucially, Section V details our official stance on community mods by clearly defining what constitutes a “Mod,” granting a limited license to create them, and explicitly prohibiting the distribution of pre-bundled “Modded Versions” of our software.
- The new Terms of Service outlines the legally binding usage terms for the website, its intellectual property protections, limited download licenses for transitory viewing, and sets the governing law and dispute resolution venues in Erie County, Pennsylvania.
- The new Privacy Policy fully details our data collection, usage, and sharing practices. It outlines your rights regarding control over your personal data, including access, correction, and deletion, and reaffirms our strict compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
These updates are designed to support a safe, fair, and creative environment for everyone as we expand our game roster, library, and portfolio. We encourage all players to take a moment to review the revised terms. Your continued use of our products and services, including this website, constitutes an acceptance of these updated policies.

Future Goals
Extra Stage for Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel
Our primary objective for the upcoming month is wrapping up development on the highly anticipated Extra Stage for Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel. While the narrative framework and script are already fully finalized, we still have some heavy lifting to do on the technical and asset side before the final release. On the audio side, the BGM tracks are already completed and mixed, perfectly capturing the high-intensity atmosphere you expect from an Extra Stage challenge.
The first week of June will focus entirely on visual asset creation, specifically creating the character illustrations first and the sprite sheets for both the midboss and boss. Once the visual assets are locked in, we will transition to laying out the stage and coding the attack patterns and spell cards, ensuring smooth engine performance. The Extra Stage will be included in the Alpha 1.2.0 update slated for release later this month.
Beyond production, we will also be closely monitoring player feedback and bug reports from the Alpha 1.1.0 release to catch any lingering issues before the Extra Stage drops. We are moving heavily into the second half of this game’s development, so stay tuned for previews on social media.
New Hifuu Album Slated For Release This Month
Alongside our game development, Drillimation Records is thrilled that their next Hifuu Club album, titled Cold Frontal Lobotomy, is officially slated to release at the end of this month exclusively on Bandcamp. Of course, you can still listen to the original tracks on YouTube. While the album is heavily inspired by Ghostly Field Club and includes one arrangement from said album, it features an atmosphere combining the Prophet’s signature style. It will feature a curated selection of original tracks and arrangements from the mainline Drillimation Danmaku Universe games.
The album will feature arrangements of themes from the following games:
- Drillimation Danmaku Universe:
- Kaisendou Series:
- Touhou Doumeiju ~ Mystical Power Plant
- Touhou Mahoujou ~ Book of Star Mythology
- Official Touhou Project media:
- Ghostly Field Club
- Touhou 8: Imperishable Night
- Touhou Shinkirou ~ Urban Legend in Limbo
The album has a planned release of June 26, 2026. Stay tuned on our social media channels so we can let you know when it releases!
The July 2026 State of Drillimation
As we approach the middle of the year, we will reflect on how far we have come since the intense engine redevelopment for Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel since it began development in late January. The studio is in its strongest position yet to bounce back and deliver the definitive danmaku experience we’ve been striving for.
