Back in June, Drillimation Systems began work on a new Touhou Project RPG for Whitethorn Digital after Chuhou Joutai 3: Three Nights of Scarlet Abscess completed development. Drillimation hopes to get the prototype to Whitethorn Digital by the end of September.
This project will star Touhou Project character Rinnosuke Morichika (called Kourin in-game) in a coming of age story as he watches Marisa Kirisame (Queen Marisa in the Chuhou Joutai games) grow from an infant to a noblewoman. It will span six acts from a timespan between 1671 to 1702, taking place in the early Edo period.
As of September 4, 2022, the first act is halfway done. Some features have not yet been programmed into the game, and plenty of bugs still have to be crushed out.
