Drillimation Systems has faced a tumultuous past two days, dealing with a series of technical failures that left players disconnected. From localized power failures to widespread housing errors, Drillimation is currently in recovery mode.
The trouble began on Monday, May 11, 2026, when the studio went dark for three hours – a power outage on a busy Monday afternoon delayed the production for the thumbnail art of their latest YouTube video, which won’t release for another 11 hours. After the electricity had been restored, the situation remained volatile throughout the evening. Susumu Takajima of Drillimation noted that a faulty transformer was likely to blame, requiring multiple visits from FirstEnergy crews and causing imminent disruptions before Drillimation finally stabilized later that night.
Just as the studio seemed to be clear, a second wave of issues hit yesterday morning. Drillimation’s website (the one we mean) and itch.io both went down at the same time. The latter went down at 7:30 AM EDT and the former at 11:30 AM. This outage effectively cut off access to official game downloads and documentation, the studio’s storefront on itch.io, support ticket systems, and community inquiries.
As of 11:40 AM, the Drillimation website appears to have been restored, and access to itch.io wasn’t restored until 2PM. More than 1,600 people reported outages according to Downdetector. The WordPress page was to a much less extreme degree; more than 70 people reported issues.
This string of bad luck follows a separate false-positive incident back in late April, when the Prophet Driller’s Discord account was briefly flagged for wrongful Community Guidelines violations due to an AI moderation error. It’s been a rocky road for Drillimation, but for now, it seems the lights are mostly back on.

What a frustrating series of events. It’s easy for people to see a website, a game, or a video and never realize how many moving parts are working behind the scenes to make it all happen.
I’m glad to hear things are beginning to stabilize. The fact that you continued communicating with your community throughout the disruptions speaks well of your commitment to the people who support your work.
Hopefully the worst is behind you and the only thing breaking from here on out is new ground. Best of luck with the recovery!
Wishing you smoother days ahead and no more surprise visits from the tech gremlins.
