Touhou Mihomu ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria After Years Serialization Complete

Last weekend, Drillimation Systems has confirmed the completion of the serialization for their web novel Touhou Mihomu ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria After Years. The series was first announced late last year with the prologue chapter releasing on December 28, 2025 and subsequent chapters releasing weekly throughout the first entire quarter of 2026, which has come to an end. The release of the epilogue chapter marks the end of a significant era for the Drillimation Danmaku Universe.

Mythos of Phantasmagoria After Years has captivated readers with a unique look into the daily life of Miho Fujiwara and Crown Prince Kichou, in addition to the exploration of the former’s religious and philosophical questions. By blending traditional lore with fresh narrative progression, the novel has provided fans with a deep dive into the “after years” of some of their favorite characters from the two Mythos of Phantasmagoria games.

“The series’ completion is a testament to the dedication of myself,” Drillimation founder and CEO Susumu Takajima said in a statement.

The web novel, particularly the final chapters, has tied together long-standing mysteries of the characters and Gensokyo itself, in addition to the games themselves. Fans can now read the entire series from start to finish on either Archive of Our Own or Pixiv. With serialization complete, Drillimation Systems is looking to focus on its in-development projects, particularly a new midquel game under the title of Touhou Meishuugeki ~ Cursed Sweeper and Bewildering Parallel.
