Tutorial stage of Chuhou Joutai 3 complete, Next Phase of Development in Pre-Production

Yep, that’s Megumi Wasai, unleashing the very first ‘spell card’ in Chuhou Joutai 3. The tutorial stage of Chuhou Joutai 3 is complete. We’ve already gotten to the menu aspect of the game. Some new graphics are being designed at the moment, but the soundtrack for the Touhou 5: Mystic Square NES Demake is almost complete with three songs left to transcribe. I would like to give a big thank you to Discord user YoshiLightStar#6057 for letting me use his .M to .MIDI converter for ripping, converting, and transcribing every song in the original game’s soundtrack, which has been faithfully adapted for the Namco N163 chip that will be used in the game’s sound file.

Development on the Mystic Square NES Demake is not expected to begin until April. We have the entire month of March to draft all of the graphics for the demake, including but not limited to enemies, stage backgrounds, and bosses.
