Reflecting on Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Two days ago, I had just finished the main campaign of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The name may have made you feel like this game was a spin-off of some sort but no. It’s actually part of the main series, being a prequel to all of the mainline games. I think I may know why Game Freak never developed the Diamond and Pearl remakes themselves. I guess they were pouring all of their efforts and focus onto this game.

While the gameplay took on an open-world approach similar to Skyrim, they did incorporate a little bit of Minecraft stuff with the crafting mechanic. The main thing I never liked about this game was the research tasks. It was too tedious and took way too much time. I guess the next mainline Pokémon game that will hit store shelves probably this incoming November or the November of next year may mark the start of a new generation.

Until then, may we meet again when the next mainline Pokémon game comes out.
