With the summer now at a close, everyone is back in the classroom. It will be great for us to see our friends every day and learn new things, but it’s not so great when homework and exams are on our schedule. In fact, since this is Labor Day in North America, a lot of people usually refer to that day as the end of summer, even though summer doesn’t truly end until the Autumn Equinox for our Northern Hemisphere players. In the South, spring is already on the horizon for you.
Key Developments
Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality Halfway Done
Yesterday, we reached the midway point for Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality. There are 300 planned stages, and that means half of them are already done. In fact, we can complete a pack of ten stages within one to two hours. Writing dialogue, localizing, and programming it all in can also take the same amount of time. The other things that take longer include having to pen the boss sprites and cutscene images.
Ciel Chandelleur Hits Twitch Affiliate Status
Within a month after Ciel Chandelleur made her debut, she already reached Twitch Affiliate status. It’s rare to see a new Twitch user go from starter to earning revenue, though we don’t have a place to store the money at the moment.
Statistics
Over the past month, the website’s subscribers increased by 65 for a total of 2,129 subscribers today.
Drillimation’s follower count on Twitter increased by 42 for a total of 6,893 followers as of August 25, 2025. By the end of this year, that number could hit 7,000.
Bluesky
In mid-August, we achieved our goal of hitting 2,000 followers on Bluesky. I can’t believe it took ten months for that to happen. Anyway, over the past month, that number has increased by 85 for a total of 2,045 followers.
Followers remained roughly the same, but over the past month, content was viewed over 21,600 times.
YouTube
We’re getting close to 1,000 subscribers. We were hoping to hit that number this summer, but that never happened thanks to a YouTube policy change that resulted in users losing subscribers, most notoriously users having to verify their ID to gain access to advanced features. Drillimation’s channel remained untouched due to its channel history over the past several years. Anyway…
- Content was viewed over 6,900 times, bringing in over 156 watch hours.
- Subscribers increased by 27 for a total of 971 subscribers. Three people ended up unsubscribing at the last minute but a small Threads campaign brought it back to where it is.
Future Goals
Our hope is to finish the second dream of Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality by the end of this month. Those wanting to work on the game and have its completion happen sooner should head to the dedicated Careers page. Additionally, Touhou Kichouden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria 2 also releases on Steam on September 26, 2025, so make sure you wishlist the game if you haven’t already.
