New Alpha Version of Reverie of Breaking Unreality Releases
Over the weekend, Drillimation released a new version of the Alpha for their newest game Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality, adding seven new backdrops for players to use in their custom stages, a new Macintosh version, balancing adjustments, and bug fixes.
As of this writing, the first 120 stages and five bosses have been added to the game.
Studio Emiko’s Ciel Chandelleur Reaches Twitch Affiliate Rank
Finally, the Messiah of Vampires has fulfilled a promise made to her Lilians. Although still ineligible to receive funds from monetization due to not having a proper payout method, Studio Emiko’s in-house VTuber Ciel Chandelleur recently hit Twitch Affiliate status sometime during the weekend, with her announcing it on her Twitter account yesterday.
Ciel’s Birthday and Its Significance
Despite August 29 not being the actual birthday of Ciel’s creator Emiko Hosokawa, the date of August 29 to a normal person would be just like any other day, although a more cultured person would identify this date with the birthday of pop legend Michael Jackson. To Ciel, however, this is not just her birthday – it is also the birthday of the visual kei musician she greatly admires: ASAGI, of D fame and currently operating as a solo artist after said band suspended activities indefinitely in March 2024. As devoted as she is to ASAGI/D, there are a lot of references to either the musician himself or the band across her streams, including a stream playthrough of the Touhou Project fangame Hollow Song of Birds where references to Wilderness, a character in D’s lore portrayed by the band’s drummer HIROKI, are brought up frequently. When an ASAGI fan posted on Bluesky about a birthday gift project for him, Ciel is reported to submit a picture so that it would be included in the gift – All while having the incentive of celebrating both his and her birthday at the same time.

The Prophet: Even when you rose amidst the beef between me and your management, as well as being an active participant in said beef, I am amazed by your perseverance and determination towards your goal of a “pop media revolution”. What motivated you to do this?
Ciel: It all takes experimentation with content and personality – and most importantly… my kamioshi ASAGI in my heart~🩵

The Prophet: You surely are covering niche content at a breakneck speed – streaming nearly as frequent as a corporate VTuber playing games that are no longer super popular or singing songs popular to only certain niches. How can you keep on doing that despite the nagging of the people surrounding your management and PR team, forcing you to fold to their tasteless trends?
Ciel: It was written that a “pop-cultural revolution” would not make any sense or even lose its meaning if we fold to those cheap social media trends nowadays – I know that the visual kei band DEN-NO HIMECA’s career is based around capitalising on social media trends, but for some reason, they do it better than Hosokawa-shachou’s folks back in her homeland, who are just sheeple folding to the influx of Sinicised / Koreanised pop culture trends. Basically, I do my thing out of pure passion – combine that with my highly experimental gimmicks and you’ve got some content that is hopefully a remedy to the blow dealt by heavily commercialised “pop culture slop”.

Ever since her debut in July 2025, Ciel the Messiah of Vampires is the epitome of Studio Emiko’s experiments in a VTuber inspired by the best of both worlds of Touhou Project and visual kei, a movement within J-Rock noted for their stunning (if not extravagant) visuals.
