Shining Shattering Sky Demo Nearly Complete, Debugging Work Left in the Works

After a month and a half of work, Drillimation can confirm that the demo for their newest game Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality is nearly complete, with the Free Play and multiplayer modes left on the list. Drillimation hopes to have the demo out either by next Friday or the week after, depending on how things go.

At this rate, this game may have the shortest time gap between the start of development and the release of a demo or open beta for a proprietary game. For comparison in each Drillimation game:

• Chuhou Joutai: The Middle State of War: Started development on June 17, 2018, demo released on May 25, 2019. Time gap was eleven months.
• Chuhou Joutai 2: Paraided!: Started development on December 3, 2020, demo released on March 5, 2021. Time gap was three months, which was way shorter than the previous installment.
• Chuhou Joutai 3: Three Nights of Scarlet Abscess: Started development on February 1, 2022, demo released on June 24, 2022. Development of the demo lasted nearly two months, but did not get to release until the aforementioned date. Time gap was nearly five months.
• Touhou Kourinden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria: Started development on June 22, 2022. Took a lot longer due to it being a role-playing game, and the demo did not release until June 2, 2023, after nearly a year.
• Touhou Kichouden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria 2: Started development on December 30, 2023. It took roughly the same time for development, and the open beta did not release until January 17, 2025. The time gap was over a year.
• Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality: Started development on May 27, 2025. The time gap could roughly be two months, the shortest on record.
