Studio Emiko Discord Account Hacked, Hosokawa Falsely Suspended

On the morning of April 13, 2025, Indochina Time (ICT), Studio Emiko Chairwoman Emiko Hosokawa was attempting to appeal a false hacking report when it was reported that she was logged out of her Discord account suddenly. When she tried to log back in, it was reported that her login credentials were changed, preventing any authentication. Looks like it was reported that she was hacked.

The email address she uses, which is subject to a clause of classification, is basically linked to all of the services that she is on, including Discord, Bluesky, YouTube, Reddit, and many others. Hackers apparently gained access to her Discord account. Drillimation Systems CEO Susumu Takajima and Discord customer support are intervening to limit any damage that may have been done. As of this article’s writing, she is currently inactive. As a precaution when she returns, we will order Hosokawa to change her password and enable multifactor authentication. We are also taking additional measures to prevent something like this from happening again.

There are also additional problems that may require your help. We wanted to let our players know what had happened and we are in the process of implementing a fix. Please help us get the word out on how this happened. If you have any friends on Discord who know Hosokawa and have her on their friend list, please ask them to check if she is still present on said list. We really appreciate it. We will address what we can. There may be no guarantee that she will continue to use her current account and may have to start with a new one.

Unfortunately, things are still uncertain about how Hosokawa’s Discord account got hacked. She did recall about somebody sending mass false reports about her, despite not breaking Discord’s policies. We disregard and report suspicious links and do not download attachments from unsolicited emails. Some of our players might have heard that last year, the Team Shanghai Alice Twitter account got hacked by a person who attempted to shell out cryptocurrency. Whatever comes up, we will still make improvements to the security of Studio Emiko and Drillimation Systems. We will only allow clients who pass a formal security clearance to use Hosokawa’s email address for specific purposes, and it must NOT be posted publicly anywhere. This happened back in December 2023.

If you have the money, you may want to consider investing in Google’s Titan Security Keys or the YubiKey to enable multifactor authentication in a physical way. The way I do multifactor authentication when I log into Discord after getting a new device is via my phone and iPad, which I carry around all the time. We are praying that this does not happen again.
