Every Influence on Every Game I’ve Developed

For most developers, ideas can come from all sorts of places. You can find them in people, the environment, or even the popular culture of your surroundings.

Most of the influences for my games come from popular culture. This mostly includes the games I played when I was younger, but I’ve also taken cues from cinema. This might be way too much to list, but the biggest games that influenced the games I’ve made include the Mario & Luigi series, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Pokémon, Touhou Project, Undertale, Final Fantasy, and many others.

One thing I want to mention is that the music of Touhou Project inspired many players to become musicians, including myself. The soundtracks are lauded for their unique style and were in fact the reason the franchise itself was created. Every game has a unique style when it comes to its soundtrack.

I could name other influences but I think that’s what I’ll name for now at least.
