For me, every day makes me lazy. As a game developer, it’s tough to focus and not procrastinate. I spend a lot of time goofing off in the evenings, unless something comes up. I don’t rush through my projects, unless if I have to crunch on something.
The video game industry can be a fun, exciting, and challenging field for people. Sometimes, AAA projects can be too much to handle. Outside the development process, a lot of time is needed to prepare assets and such. It can be a challenge to have good time-management skills, and poor skills can lead to a lot of procrastination rather than actual work. Ultimately, it is the cause of a failed project.
This applies to all work levels, including the top spot. I’ve directed a number of noteworthy titles, and they have been produced within a short amount of time because I work on all days, including weekends and holidays, day and night. Many have gotten good review scores upon their release. When a developer has bad time management, their games will often release to poor reviews. Even a single panned game can severely damage a company’s reputation.
Critics do not take pity on developers who do poorly on projects. Developers often require their employees to make games that are challenging to do and require constant work in order the game to be completed and released. If a game is panned, the developer has little hope of success. A lot of developers do not understand what is required to succeed.

I relate to a lot of what you said. I am no full time game developer, but I dabble. I learned the hard way that creating games is never as simple as players imagine it to be. It honestly requires a significantly high level of intellect, self-discipline and artistic ability in order for a single person to create and release a full game. Much less an enjoyable one! That is why so many people are interested in game dev, but so few actually succeed in making it a career. Nothing about making a game is easy OTHER THAN coming up with an idea. But everybody is an idea guy, we all got ideas. The real talent lies in those that have the ability to pull off the idea!

Man, procrastination is contagious! I was a school principal and insanely busy but there were just some things that I put off as long as possible.

Hey! Interesting to hear a gamedeveloper talk about their life, procrastination is a tuff one, one thing that can be good is atomic habits, there is a book by that name, you start with habits, in very small scale and than make them bigger and bigger, it’s inspiring to see someone work so hard on their dreams!
