As a single-man team, I have a philosophy of focusing on one game project at a time. And no matter the size and scope, I’ll always have to work on several smaller projects to ensure I don’t leave a gap in my upload schedule. I will always work on a big project that may take one or more years at one point. There were only two times where I had another game project concurrently in development with another. They were, in order:
- Touhou 1: The Highly Responsive to Prayers NES Demake was developed late in the original Chuhou Joutai‘s development. It was created as a side project to drive players to the latter title which was largely complete.
- Touhou 5: Mystic Square NES Demake was developed midway through the development of Chuhou Joutai 3: Three Nights of Scarlet Abscess.
My brain becomes loaded with ideas for future projects, but only a fraction of them get made.

Thanks for sharing your philosophy and experiences regarding game development. It’s impressive how you manage larger and smaller projects while maintaining consistency in your uploads. That being said, focusing on one project at a time is highly commendable, and that quality is reflected in the releases. It’s really cool to hear about the side projects you developed with your major titles; finding that balance is not easy. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours and look forward to seeing which ideas are realised!
