If you love spreading the word of your WordPress site through liking posts to get noticed, you may be tempted to go as far as liking dozens of posts. However, the system will eventually prevent you from liking any more. Why does this happen?
There are limits on what you can do in Reader
WordPress places limits on what their users can do in Reader in terms of liking, commenting, and reblogging, for the sake of reliability. They help alleviate the strain on the Automattic servers and reduce downtime.
It’s not clear, but a possible estimated technical limit for Reader actions is likely 100 per hour. Users are not notified when they hit a limit. You can continue to like more posts after the time limit has elapsed. Of course, you can contact WordPress support for more information on limit troubleshooting.
Other things you should not do
Subscribing to users is an easy way to curate your feed and stay up to date on the topics or people you’re interested in. As mentioned above, there are limits on subscribing action to ensure the Automattic servers are kept stable. These limits are based on how many subscribers your own site has.
It is not clear on how many sites you can subscribe to, but you should not engage in abusive subscribing behavior, such as churning (subscribing and then unsubscribing to sites in order to inflate your own subscriber count), subscribing indiscriminately (subscribing and then unsubscribing to a large number of sites within a short time period), or using third-party services that claim to add subscribers but in reality doesn’t.

I don’t follow that many folks… maybe ~ 150… but even that keeps me hopping. I always try to comment and sometimes I’ll overlook somebody for a week if I’m trying to write daily. But nothing worse than hearing the JetPack chiming sound every 5 sec for a minute and seeing someone’s just liked 20 articles. Yeah, thanks for stopping by 🙄😂👌
