Erie Anime Fest: My Experience

Over the weekend, I attended a local anime convention, and this was the first time I ever went to a local convention ever since I went to Erie Comicon in 2019 before the pandemic.

Why did I want to go? Well, this was to show off my brand and increase my playerbase. I was grateful to get some donations from local fans.

The image above is my setup. One thing I do have to give the staff credit for is I was seated next to a wall outlet. I was also located near the entrance, meaning I greeted all fans who came in, and I was the first to be seen by all conventiongoers.

Anime conventions have been places for Touhou fans to go, but I was the only Touhou Project doujin circle to be there. I happened to meet one player who was familiar with Touhou Project. Asides from the usual anime crowds, I also met Genshin Impact players and many Mario fans, but there were no Touhou Project cosplayers at the con. Additionally, I reunited with an old friend from high school who was a member of my high school gaming club (and I was the president of that).

I had a good eight hours at the con. I hope to be there again next year, and hopefully future local conventions later this year.
