Monthly Updates: November 2022

Hi, this is Driller from Drillimation.

Spooky season is over, and we’ve made it to that time of the year again. The holiday season is becoming underway as the Northern Hemisphere is beginning to be covered in snow as winter descends among us. Speaking of that, winter had an abrupt beginning earlier in October. For us in the Great Lakes region, we’ve been seeing snow on the ground as early as October! Just at least wait until after Halloween, mother nature. We don’t give any hoots about snow before Thanksgiving.

Also later in the month, a new Pokémon generation is beginning. We’re heading to Spain and Portugal this generation. This is the third Pokémon region to be set in Europe. I’m asking who you might be choosing as your starter. For me, I’m picking Sprigatito, the grass cat Pokémon. I was aiming to get the second act of Kourinden done by the time the game released so that I can dedicate time to playing it.

Anyway, let me get to the news.

Community Tab on Drillimation’s YouTube channel is now open

A few days ago, I received a notice stating that the Community tab on Drillimation’s YouTube channel had opened up. Simply put, the discussions tab is gone. If you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel, you can receive important updates about what’s going on behind the scenes at Drillimation. Should I do premieres for some of my videos? Let me know in the comments.

Touhou Kourinden is almost one-third complete

I’m excited to announce that Touhou Kourinden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria’s second act is almost done. Just one mission left. I have to prepare a bunch of graphics for the tower the tenth mission will be set in, as well as additional graphics for characters that will be present in its cutscenes. November will be a month of graphic design before the programming will go into effect.

Whenever an act ends and a new one begins, I have to plan extensively. The game is warped to a new time point and this means having to create a new set of characters, which in turn have their own sprites.

That’s it

That’s all I have for this month. As sixty days remain on the year, we are hoping we can finish out the year smoothly.
