Hi, this is Driller from Drillimation Systems.
Great to see you on this Lunar New Year, which happened to fall on the exact same day I put out this post! I hope you’re all feeling well and excited for a new game being put out from Drillimation Systems. But first, let’s get to the big picture.
Touhou 4: Lotus Land Story NES Demake is releasing soon
The game has officially completed development. We are now in the post-production phase of the game. If you have not seen the trailer, it’s above. A lot of players have been expecting the new demake to hit the shores, and it’s coming.
For those out of the loop, Touhou 4: Lotus Land Story NES Demake is a complete NES-inspired remake of the PC-98 classic that released nearly a quarter of a century earlier. We made this brand new Windows port as a way to attract fans to the earlier PC-98 games without the need to configure an emulator. Demakes for the first three games have also been done.
Not only will it bring in veterans, but those who are new to Touhou will be able to experience the PC-98 games in the NES style on the comfort of your PC.
Mystery Game Revealed to be Chuhou Joutai 3
The mystery game that you’ve been waiting for has finally been unveiled. It’s Chuhou Joutai 3. This animated trailer will set the overall tone for the game, which is darker and edgier but in a way to keep the game’s target audience of beginners.
This trailer also gives you a glimpse of the new Susumu Takajima and Kagami Ochiai. Driller gets a more mature appearance with a hoodie while Kagami dons a sweet lolita outfit.
I am finally able to record voiceovers and livestream again.
I was planning to livestream more Mario Maker 2 on Twitch, but a lot of things got in the way. First of all, for the entire month of January, I had major construction work going on at Drillimation and was unable to record voiceovers, shoot video, or even livestream during that time. Thankfully that’s over now, and I will now be able to do this again with little to no interruptions and/or disruptions.
Warning about Pokémon Legends Arceus (don’t worry, I am still healthy)
If you’re a fan who is playing the brand new Pokémon game Pokémon Legends Arceus, we may want to give you a warning for a certain stock sound effect used in the game. Pokémon Legends Arceus holds the honor of being the first mainline game to use the notorious Hanna-Barbera “Big Whistle Zing Out” in one cutscene whenever you select the “Throw” option. I ended up suffering a Tourette’s attack as a result. Numerous other sounds found within their library have also been cited for being dangerous to those with a certain condition.
For somebody with hypersensitive sound disorder (referred to as Misophonia, affects 1 in 10,000), these sounds can be so serious that they have the potential to kickstart a heart attack and be fatal. Some cases can result in vomiting. If you, or anyone in your family has a mental disorder linked to Misophonia, please consult your doctor before you start playing. Previously undetected symptoms may go unnoticed, so we recommend you review our Photosensitive Epilepsy and Hypersensitive Sound Warning before you decide to play.
If you’re still having issues related to Misophonia, we recommend you talk to your doctor. With counseling and medication, you can overcome it. However, there’s no cure. It most commonly happens as a result of a genetic disorder or an acquired brain injury, such as a trauma or stroke.
Also, I forgot to mention as a result of the construction work, many of the workers were not wearing a mask, so I may have to get tested to ensure I didn’t get COVID, even though I am fully vaccinated and boosted.
That’s all, folks!
We hope you look forward to the release of the Touhou 4: Lotus Land Story NES Demake. Anyway, stay safe and have a good Lunar New Year.
