Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality Completes Development, Beta Testings to Start Friday

Drillimation Systems can confirm that Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality has completed development last Thursday after five months of hard work. The studio has confirmed that Beta testing for the game will begin on Halloween, which is this coming Friday.

Development on the game started this past summer in late May. The Alpha testings for the game started in late July and continued for the rest of its development until this coming Friday. The open beta will run until a specified release date as a way for players to experience the game before its official launch.

Shining Shattering Sky ~ Reverie of Breaking Unreality is a danmaku-based block breaker game set twenty years before the events of Chuhou Joutai: The Middle State of War. Players assume the roles of Tomohiro Uchida and Hikari Aogami, two university students searching for the supernatural in their dreams.

The game was developed as a spiritual successor to their most popular game, Touhou 1: The Highly Responsive to Prayers NES Demake, which is an NES-inspired adaptation of the very first Touhou Project game. It includes 300 stages and fifteen bosses, and a stage editor for players to create their own stages. The game can be played alone or with a second player.

Participants who play the beta will receive a Steam key to access the full game when it officially launches. Anyone can become a participant by subscribing to Drillimation’s Patreon, which is viewable here. Players’ feedback will be essential to delivering the best possible experience for the official launch.

The open beta is available for Windows and MacOS. For more information about the game, click here.
