As Drillimation Systems prepares to launch Touhou Chouhatsuyou ~ Burgeoning Tresses of Longevity in twelve days, software development won’t get any faster or slower. In fact, critics have said that fast development isn’t always better. Slowing down allows their developers to build better, more stable foundations. Drillimation’s goal for future projects after a rough start with Burgeoning Tresses of Longevity is to prioritize stability, improve development workflows, and shift to flexible approaches.
Future Projects Will Involve Larger Teams
The Prophet Driller has handled the programming on every game in his lonesome To give more stability and quality, Drillimation will turn the focus on bringing in more expert developers while at the same time maintaining a low-cost model in their projects. Drillimation will also extend the gap between releases to redefine patches, automate testing, and focus on improving performance and reliability.
The smaller teams for the Chuhou Joutai trilogy, Touhou Project NES Demakes, and Mythos of Phantasmagoria have served Drillimation well. Sometimes, it was not enough. They will be investing more into their build and testing pipelines to ensure every game meets the highest quality standards. As such, they will be committed to delivering content in a stable state from day one.
