September 2024 Monthly Digest

Another summer has come and gone by, and now we all have to go back to school. For us, summer seems to start around Memorial Day in late May and end on Labor Day in early September. Being at school allows us to see our friends every day but things aren’t so great when we have homework every night. It’s great to learn new things but it’s much of struggle having to study for the exams that accompany it.

  • Subscribers increased by 22 for a total of 646 followers.

Future Goals

Drillimation is hoping to get to the end of the main campaign of Touhou Kichouden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria 2 by mid or late October, and spend November working on the post-game stuff.

Future projects after Touhou Kichouden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria 2

Since the beginning of the development of Touhou Kichouden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria 2, Drillimation Systems has had the idea of Touhou Chouhatsuyou ~ Burgeoning Tresses of Longevity. As its name suggests, it would be a Touhou Project fangame that would follow a crazy concept of an unknown being putting on a spell that causes every woman and girl’s hair to grow to their height. While it does satisfy some, others not, including Reimu Hakurei.

While the concept was initially well-received by Studio Emiko, the reputation started going down the drain as Mythos of Phantasmagoria 2 was being developed, thinking that a hair-related thing to use as a plot for a Touhou Project fangame would be ridiculous. Instead, Drillimation Systems has elected to make two games in the future, one with Susumu Takajima and the other with Emiko Hosokawa as directors respectively.

Burgeoning Tresses of Longevity will be developed as planned by Drillimation Systems after Mythos of Phantasmagoria 2 enters postproduction, and while during that game is being developed, Hosokawa would work on the concept of an untitled game. Hosokawa is insisting that Drillimation Systems do away with the NES or SNES-style graphics that have been present in all of our games, but Drillimation does not want the formula tampered.
