If you can’t connect IFTTT to your WordPress site

IFTTT is a service that allows you to cross-post and promote your blog post on a wide variety of services. If you receive an email stating the WordPress service is offline and you can’t reconnect, this guide should help you. The solution is for WordPress.org users, while this guide is for WordPress.com users.

  1. Make sure the user you’re trying to connect to has full administrator rights. If you are using multi-factor authentication, you may need an application-specific password.
  2. Make sure your site URL and the user you’re trying to connect is correct.
  3. If you are using plugins*, make sure they are up to date.
  4. Try updating your WordPress account password. Expired passwords can cause issues.
  5. If you are still having issues, you can trigger IFTTT applets with the pre-made RSS feed – New feed item trigger by using your own site’s feed.

*Creator plan required

If you are unable to solve your problem, you can try contacting IFTTT support and their support team will be happy to help you with any technical questions you have.
