June and July were a wild ride for us. Unfortunately, it is that time of the year again. Summer for us in the Northern Hemisphere is starting to come to an end, and in a couple weeks, we will all be going back to school with the start of yet another school year.
Key Developments Over the Past Month
- Touhou Meijinka ~ Song of Divine Tempest formally began development, making this the first game developed by Drillimation where the Prophet Driller does not take the director’s chair.
Statistics on Social Media Platforms
Over the Canada Day weekend, Drillimation suffered because of outages. Automation issues prevented Drillimation from conducting their social media activity. The rebrand of Twitter to X (will still be referred to as Twitter) also impacted Drillimation.
- Over the past two months, the number of followers on Drillimation’s Twitter page increased by 132 for a total of 5,784 followers.
- The tweets of Drillimation were viewed nearly 54,000 times.
Drillimation’s Instagram page struggled in June. Early that month, Instagram rolled out a new method on how hashtag pages are sorted. This resulted in the retirement of the Recent and Reels tab, resulting in lower engagement.
- Over the past two months, the number of followers increased by only 43 for a total of 2,876 followers.
- The posts of Drillimation during that time were viewed nearly 19,000 times. A small portion of that came from an ad campaign.
YouTube
- Video content was viewed over 4,000 times.
- Subscribers increased by 17, way larger than June’s digest.
Future Goals
Touhou Meijinka ~ Song of Divine Tempest will be way different than previous Drillimation projects. Because it is the first Drillimation game to not be directed by the Prophet, he is serving as a producer, writing most of the game’s source code. E. Enthusiasm, a new developer who signed on to work on the Touhou Meijinka project, will provide most of the graphics.
As of now, only the first stage is in the works. The complete screenplay is not complete yet, and Studio Emiko is facing a busy schedule for the rest of August until school starts back up in September, where academic pressures may result in delays.
