Problem: When attempting to launch a Steam-enabled Drillimation game, you receive an error stating “No Licenses” or a similar message and the game shuts down.
Solution
This problem can occur if a Steam-enabled Drillimation game is not in your Steam library. Generally, Steam must verify game ownership in order for it to run. This measure is put into place to prevent piracy. Sometimes, this can happen even if you’ve purchased the game. If you run into this issue, follow these steps:
Verify the Integrity of the Game
This feature helps ensure that a game’s files are installed correctly on your system. To do this:
- Restart your system and launch Steam.
- Right click on the game in your library or click the gear icon from the game’s library page.
- From the drop-down menu, select Properties.
- Go to the Installed Files tab and click the Verify Integrity of Game Files button.
- Steam will then verify the game’s files. This process may take some time, so be patient.
- Once finished, try launching the game.
NOTE: This is a system-intensive process. Make sure that all GPU and CPU intensive programs such as antivirus software and disk defragmenters are closed during the process. You can only run this process for one game at a time. It is normal for one or more files to fail to verify. These files are usually local configuration files and do not have to be replaced during the process.
Add the Game to Your Antivirus Software’s Whitelist
We occasionally receive issue reports from players saying the game is being detected as a virus by their antivirus product. These detections are always false positives and no malware is involved. We make no guarantee of the behavior of third-party antivirus products as to whether or not something malicious may be found in the game’s folder.
