Troubleshoot Issues With Drillimation HTML5 Games

With Drillimation’s browser games running on HTML5, there are a series of differences between the downloadable games on PC and the games you play on the web. Many of these differences will also vary whether or not you have WebGL enabled, the amount of tabs open, or the amount of extensions you’re using.

Known Issues

  • While most text, sprites, and backgrounds should work, some may not be drawn or colored correctly. You must have WebGL enabled in order to get image blending and gradients to work properly.
  • Certain browsers such as Firefox and Chrome have security settings that prevent modification of images when they are loaded from local sources. You cannot play the HTML5 games from a local source and is only allowable through a web server.
  • Some games make use of dependencies that are incompatible with HTML5. For example, Touhou Meijinka ~ Song of Divine Tempest makes use of the Scribble text rendering engine by Juju Adams and some functions of the dependency are incompatible with HTML5.
  • You can’t save your data on itch.io since nonexistent files detected by the game upon first startup will crash the game and render it unplayable.
  • Another common problem is lag issues generated by danmaku. To minimize lag, make sure all other tabs and programs are closed, and be sure to disable all extensions before playing. If you prefer not to disable, we recommend you play in Incognito Mode.
  • It is possible to play the game on a mobile device, but since you can’t really move using an on-screen keyboard, we recommend connecting a Bluetooth keyboard or controller to your device.

If you are concerned about these issues, we recommend you download the executable version of the game and play offline instead.
