The building where Drillimation Systems is based.

After Drillimation Systems forced their employees to stay at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, Drillimation announced today that they will be returning to their original location at Mercyhurst University for the first time in five months on Saturday, August 15, 2020. This came after the university announced they will resume in-person classes earlier this year after Erie entered the yellow phase of reopening in May just two weeks before Chuhou Joutai officially released.

Chuhou Joutai released during the height of the pandemic last May. A recent interview in a Pakistan-based gaming blog Games Cover about the game originally showed their attempt to promote the game at the university’s Grotto Commons dining area. The pandemic practically made it impossible due to the imposed quarantines. The quarantine began after Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf declared the state of emergency back in March.

For a brief recap, COVID-19 is a virus caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The virus originated from horseshoe bats and/or pangolins at a wet market in Wuhan of China’s Hubei Province in December 2019. It spread worldwide and became a pandemic within a few months, and authorities are aggressively trying to contain the outbreak. It is as contagious as the common cold and flu and major outbreaks have occurred in China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, and the United States who was worst hit due to a terrible response from President Donald Trump. The virus causes dry cough, fevers, and pneumonia, which can be fatal.

As a precautionary measure, Drillimation will be requiring all of their employees to have regular temperature checks and wear face masks as protection each and every single day for the next 18 weeks. Anyone who tests positive will be isolated. We are only a few months away from a vaccine, which like any AAA video game, won’t likely be available on the market until likely October to December. Six candidates are in their third and final phase of clinical trials.

We can’t wait to see all of our employees return Saturday.
